Harry Harrison Once more from the void, G&P emerge in riffage victory! I’ve always been a massive fan of these guys and it doesn’t stop now. The sound; while familiar, has a slightly different edge. Not worse, not better, just different. Still massive, immersive and progressive, but it hasn’t lost any of its flare. If you’ve gotten into these guys before, you’ll enjoy this outing. If you haven’t heard them before, you’re in for a treat. Favorite track: Purple Moon.

Justin@BlindMouse With enough psych to keep folk from quibbling and enough fuzz to quell a quandary. A marathon paced triple tracker!! A sprint at the final third only solidifies the chemistry of the alchemy they have in telepathy. Gods & Punks & Mountains of Garbage!!

FDJ (Desert Psychlist) A scintillating three tracker from one of Brazil's finest outfits, there have been a few line up changes since their last release and a few logistical problems due to the members locations but despite that Gods & Punks have once again delivered the goods.

Mountains of Garbage Step into our landfill and behold This is it, our story must be told Hills, fields and islands left behind Black hole eats a world and spits out mankind A plague that kills a plague A sickness that won’t die Hand of doom, twist of fate Mountains of garbage Memories, our thoughts they fade But the footprint’s there for us to face Hills, fields and islands left behind Black hole eats a world and spits out mankind A plague that kills a plague A sickness that won’t die Hand of doom, twist of fate Mountains of garbage Til we come Til we go What will change We don’t know Last resort Flee the world Leave behind What we have done Mountains of garbage

Dinosaur Feathers Gather 'round the fire Got a story to tell Look into my eyes And you'll know it's for real Not too long ago I told you to go Man, do I regret those words Guess it’s too late to know Can you feel the flames Burn these Dinosaur Feathers Whisper in your ear Something we can recall A moment lost in time For the sake of it all Not too long ago You told me to go And do you regret those words Guess I’ll never know Can you feel the flames Burn these Dinosaur Feathers Brighter than suns or a thousand lights It was so bright I thought I was blind But the problem seems to be in eyes Yeah the problem seems to be in my sight But it’s alright today Yeah it’s alright today Oh it’s alright… Don’t need no fight

Purple Moon 03:06
Purple Moon Heavy hands wash the third eye Gears rusty, I know why Coming out to feel the sun Lay beside me as time runs Man it feels good to be back Wondering why we all left Took a break after five years Now it’s time to reappear I was getting tired of the same old In a scarlet sky, purple moon it glows Enough of waiting, I’m way too old A crimson tide, purple moon it glows While I sleep my heart dissolves The equation is resolved Mind the edges they collide Try to keep the dust inside Way too young to settle down And too old to sit around Waiting for the stars aligned Something I could never find I was getting tired of the same old In a scarlet sky, purple moon it glows Enough of waiting, I’m way too old A crimson tide, purple moon it glows

about

Mountains of Garbage is our first release since 2021’s The Sounds of the Universe. Since then, a lot has happened. But we’ll get into that later. Having closed the book on our Voyage Series, Mountains of Garbage features independent songs, with lyrics inspired by contemporary subjects that influenced us during between 2022 and 2023. With Psy, our former rhythm guitar player, and Danilo. our former bass player, choosing not to go on with the band, Pedro, who played lead guitars in all of our past works, decided to take on the bass, while Rodrigo, who plays lead guitars on fellow heavy psych band from Rio, Blind Horse, took over most of the guitars. Gabriel, responsible for the drums on The Sounds of the Universe, also returned for this EP. However, replacing Psy and Danilo was only the first part of the problem, as we the four of us were in different cities. So for the first time, each of us would record their parts from their respective city, and not together, live in a room. Rodrigo and Gabriel got together and recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Pedro added his bass parts from Santos, and I recorded vocals from Paris.

The title track, Mountains of Garbage, was written during the garbage collectors strike in Paris, as I witnessed the streets I walked through fill with literal mountains of garbage, exposing the impressive amount of waste produced by us, without the possibility of sweeping it under the rug, like we normally do. Dinosaur Feathers is about the terrible effects of the diseases which originated from the extension of human life, such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. And finally, our most upbeat track to date, Purple Moon, was mostly composed back in 2012, being our oldest recorded song to date. We’re very excited to share these three tracks with you all. We are really proud of them and hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Stay tuned, there will be even more new material by the end of the year!
